Our Weekly Program
The Overcomers Place is a caring, connected, community for those overcoming any addiction. We provide a structured day program that is researched and developed by our team of therapists. Our program is both emergent and client-led.
Each client has their own tailored program according to their recovery goals.
Our groups are from Monday to Friday aimed at long term healing from addiction in a safe and supportive environment. Groups are led by our specifically trained lived experience caring team of counsellors and are aimed at...
Breaking the cycle of addiction
Learning the tools to emotionally regulate when cravings, and/or emotions become overwhelming
Developing the capacity for strong healthy relationships
Our Morning Groups run from 10:30am-12pm and our Afternoon Groups are from 1pm-2:30pm. Groups are offered at our Gladesville and Bronte locations.

Thursday afternoon group offers a 12-Step hybrid Beginner’s AA Meeting, where clients can share their recovery journey in person or online.
Additionally, we provide a Supporters Group for carers, partners, and families, offering support for those living with or supporting loved ones through addiction and recovery.

Why We Exist
-
Addiction is Deadly
In Australia someone dies every 90 mins of an alcohol-related illness and over 70% of Domestic Violence incidence are alcohol related. These statistics are preventable.
Addiction to alcohol, drugs and gambling can affect anyone. It works in a vicious cycle that can only be broken through a sustainable recovery program.
-
Recovery is Hard
Early detection of substance abuse and accessing sustainable treatment are key to successful and long term recovery.
Operating a non-residential treatment centre means that we can guide individuals through their recovery journey as they learn to face the challenges of day to day life with a new set of tools.
-
Overcoming is Possible
We have a team of professionals, who have overcome their own addictions, to help individuals and their families break the addiction cycle.
Providing a free service based on neurobiological trauma informed principles allows us to reach the individuals struggling with addiction that would otherwise fall through the cracks.
